Technology in favor of logistics business

Companies that work with products import and export know how hard it can be to find international shipping services at a competitive rate. Thinking about that, a Latino American start-up developed a website and app that will help those professionals on their business by showing them the best offers available for the services they need.

Gurucargo allows importers and exporters to have access to the best transportation rates in the logistics market by a simple click. The app aims to facilitate the articulation of freight services between forwarders, strategically combining air, sea and land solutions with efficiency and transparency.

Just like trip websites that help you look for best deals in flights or hotels, Gurucargo promises to find the freight solutions with the best price for import and export cargos, to anywhere in the world. For that, they charge 1% of commission in every freight they generate.

The platform has received a contribution of 4 million USD to start operating. It is present has been working in Uruguay and Mexico since 2015, with 3,000 clients. In 2016, it has also arrived in Brazil and Paraguay. According to one of its founders, Alejandro Esperanza, the company’s purpose is to become the biggest in Latin America, attracting many more users in the upcoming years.

The start-up’s main focus are small and medium sized companies. The reason why they target this audience is because, sometimes, those businesses can’t import and export due to high freight costs and bureaucracy. With the app, they will be able to save money and time.
